Yngve Vassmyr

Since he graduated at the University of Tromsø in 1985, Yngve has worked with Statoil in positions of increasing responsibility. During his first phase in the industry, he worked as an explorationist  dealing with seismic interpretation, play analysis and prospect evaluation. In this period, he was involved with well planning and following-up exploration drilling at various location on NCS.

He has been in charge of license administration, a manager within the technology division, he has been responsible for licensing round applications, regional E&P director in Norway, exploration manager for the North Sea, and VP responsible for global exploration, including all exploration assets offshore Ireland, UK, the Faroes, Deep Water Norway and the Barents Sea. Before he joined Discover Petroleum in 2005, he was in charge of Operations for the Snøhvit LNG plant in Hammerfest.
