Front Exploration will participate in exploration drilling in the Barents sea in March 2012.

The drilling on the Eik-prospect is due to start in March 2012, on the licence PL 396, northeast in the Barents Sea. The prospect is located 210 kilometres northeast of the North Cape, and about 75 kilometres east from the gas discovery Nordvarg. The drilling will be performed by Aker Barents, and is expected to last for about 30 days.

The Eik-prospect is one of the two easternmost licenses in the Barents-sea, close up to the recently clarified delimitation line between Norway and Russia. Even farther east is the Elbrus-prospect in PL 536, another prospect where Front Exploration is a licence partner. “This is an exiting area, and we are very exited about being present here”, says Yngve Vassmyr, CEO of Front Exploration AS.
