PetroMarker electromagnetic (EM) campaign.

Discover Petroleum started a 90 days PetroMarker electromagnetic (EM) campaign late May 2009. The vessel Polar Bjørn from Rieber has successfully been acquiring data in the North Sea, Norwegian Sea and Barents Sea. Data are being acquired in licensed as well as open acreage.

New receivers are used during the campaign. The receivers secure the antennas to be vertical and eliminate movements causing noise. The result is significantly improved data quality and efficiency.

New software for survey planning, forward and inverse modeling as well as data processing has been developed within Discover Petroleum. The software forms a solid basis for better predictions, integration and evaluation of the data.

The final data will form an important part of the decision making process within Discover Petroleum.

The surveys have been conducted without any accidents. This is due to careful planning and well managed operations by PetroMarker and the contracted vessel crew from Rieber.

The data will be carefully analyzed and integrated in prospect evaluation and for input to further improvements, in equipment, processing and modeling.
